Introducing “Holy Ghost Downloads”!

I am SUPER, SUPER excited to share with all of you my new blog, entitled “Holy Ghost Downloads”! But before I start I want to give an ENORMOUS SHOUT OUT to Cindy Knoke! Please take a moment to take a look at all of the AMAZING photography on her blog. I believe that Cindy has been on WordPress as long as I have and she has always been one of my biggest encourager. She has consistently “LIKED” all of my posts, which many times kept me motivated to continue blogging.

Cindy, Thank You!

As I eluded to earlier, I’ve been on WordPress almost 10 years. I started my blog, Finding Order in Chaos when I started my business, Order Your Steps LLC. If you have followed me any length of time, you know that Order Your Steps has been much more of a ministry to me than a business. Therefore, I’ve given you not only organizing tips, but there have been numerous spiritually inspired messages, which I believe have been sent directly from the Holy Spirit, that I have been compelled to share, thus the birth of “Holy Ghost Downloads”.

In the midst of this pandemic, my mantra has been “Moving Forward by Faith”, we can’t look back, we must look ahead. We have endured so much for the past two years. Many of us are hurting, heavy-hearted and feeling a tad hopeless, however, I truly believe that the Holy Spirit is speaking to us in so many ways in the midst of our most difficult times. Therefore, rather you’re here at Finding Order in Chaos with tips to help you to bring Order to your space -or- over at Holy Ghost Downloads where I hope that you will take a moment or two to listen to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to bring Order to our minds and hearts…

It’s a New Day, Every Day!
My prayer is that you will find inspiration, encourgagement and hope!

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 14:26 KJV

“Light will Always find Its Way into Darkness”

My eyes are very sensitive to light especially when I’m trying to sleep, so a few months ago I bought some blackout curtains. They are absolutely wonderful! However, I realized that when the sun came up, the Light always found its Way into the darkness. My bedroom was no longer pitch dark … into the smallest crevices, the light had come through. For some of us, our lives seem to be in total darkness right now and for others, we encounter those moments of darkness when our situation seems hopeless. But always remember…

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

2 Corinthians 4:6-9 KJV

We are in a season of grief and loss, like we’ve never seen before… “God, it’s so overwhelming! Sometimes I feel that I just can’t catch my breath. We need to see Your Light. It feels so dark right now. But as I lay in my bed in the early morning, I see Your light piercing through what was once a room that was pitch dark. Help us to see Your Light, the Light of Your Glory. You are the only one that can strengthen us, that can hold us up, even in the darkest places. ”

We must let His Word Order Our Steps…

27 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalms 27:1

105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Psalms 119:105

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Psalms 23:4

5 […] weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

Psalms 30:5b

Loss is hard and Grieving is a process…

“His Light will Always find it Way into Darkness!”

Be Encouraged…

There are times when people choose to walk out of our lives. Unfortunately, they may also walk away from God. Our prayer is that they come back to God and God will let us know whether they will come back to us. Sometimes, He removes people to make our life better, because they are in the way of what God wants to do in us and through us.  There are other times that they are removed so that we don’t interfere with what God is trying to do in their lives.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28 KJV

Restoration

Since yesterday, the eyes of my understanding has been enlightened, so I decided to share … My thoughts about my son had become so very heavy on me for the past several months. I’d prayed, but I just couldn’t shake the spirit of heaviness. It’s been almost two years, since I’d seen him. This wasn’t the first time that he had left for years at a time. But this time, I’d decided that obviously God had His reasons for us to be apart and I just needed to be “ok” with that…. what I hadn’t realized was that I’d also decided that if/when he came back, there would be more drama and he would just leave again. I was tired of being brokenhearted.

God’s revelation for me started about a week ago, when I hear a church elder say that we are not experiencing God’s Fullness of Joy, because we are afraid to love deeply. We have become so guarded with our hearts and we just don’t want to be hurt again. However, we must understand that God is standing by ready to heal our broken heart, if we’d let him. He wants to restore many of our closest relationships, but He’s waiting on us.

With the help of the Holy Spirit, my son’s picture as a child showed me how vulnerable he used to me and he needed a mom. Although my son is grown, I’m still his mom and for me to be “ok”, I’d hardened my heart and given up on any hope of reconciliation and God’s Total Restoration. Today, God said to me, and possibly, to some of you too! …

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

Ezekiel 36:26 KJV

And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.

Ezekiel 36:26 NLT

I don’t know what God has in store for me, but I do know that He can do the impossible, if only I believe, do my part and keep “Moving Forward by Faith”!

No Matter what … I’m Still his Mom

Yesterday after my organizing appt., I had a “sort & purge” adventure of my own. My journey started in the crawl space under the steps and of course, one thing led to another. I went from the basement to my closet and ended up in the junk drawer of my night stand, where I found this pic and a flood of emotions followed. The Holy Spirit has a very interesting way of getting your attention, so I decided to share by doing a blog post.

My Own Personal Moving Forward by Faith Moment

If you followed me in the early days, you know that my son and I have always had an “interesting” relationship, but I won’t bore you with the details. In 2018, I wrote a book and originally, there was supposed to be a chapter about my son in this book. But while writing about what he’s done, what he hadn’t done, what’s he should have done and what he shouldn’t have done, the Lord revealed to me that I was still holding my son hostage to his past and it was time for me to release him to walk in his present and to move into his future. It was no longer about who was to blame, but about us continuing to grow in His Grace.  I knew that God had already written the next chapter in our lives and one day it would be revealed. I truly believed that my son and I were well on our way to reconciliation, but I never imagined that he would just walk out of my life, yet again!

My son will be 43 on July 11th and it will be two years since we’ve spoken. The Holy Spirit continues to assure me that God has him. Although I know, in my heart of hearts that God’s in control, I still struggle to understand. Yes, I’ve even asked God if I had to be my son’s mom (an oxymoron), but, of course, God said that that was not my decision. The pic just reminded me that No Matter What, I am Still his Mom! There are just certain things that God does or allows, that we will never understand. We will just have to…

Keep Moving Forward by Faith!

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Jeremiah 29:11 KJV

Are You too Tired?

Are you just too tired to take another step? Tired of being isolated? Tired of being with/without family? Tired of being alone? Just Tired! I truly understand, however, we must take the next step. Why, you say? Because first, we can not stay in this spot and better yet, when we take the next step, the Lord will show us the next one.

Now we need to get some preliminary things out of the way…

  • You may not know the Lord. Well, for now, that’s ok, He knows you! You will just have to trust me on that. We will talk more about that later.
  • You may know the Lord, but you are not very happy with Him right now. Well, that’s ok too, because He knows that already.
  • Either way, we need to have a conversation with the Lord and let Him know that we’re going to take the next step and we need Him to show us just a little light, so that we can see the next one. Now, take the step, one foot in front of the other. Fairly simple!

No, not really… We will wake up tomorrow to a new day! … but we feel the same.

So here’s some advice:

  1. Get up tomorrow when you wake up, try not to snooze and put your feet on the floor.
  2. Turn off the phone or at least silence it for ONE hour. Please do not scroll! Everyone else in the world seem so happy????
  3. Find a quiet spot and open the curtains to your new day. Rain or shine, it’s gonna be a Good day!
  4. Open the window if possible, we can definitely use some fresh air.
  5. Fix you a cup of coffee or tea, take a deep breath and now you are ready for your next step.

We’re Moving Forward by Faith… but it’s definitely not easy. Life may seem dark right and we can’t see what’s in front of us, but with each step we take, the Lord will light up the next one.

Thy Word is a Lamp unto my feet and a Light unto my path.

Psalm 119:105

God’s Plan for Us has Not Changed

I pray that all are safe and healthy. The state of this world right now, may be causing us a little stress, anxiety and uncertainty. However, I believe that many of us may be in places where we really do NOT want to be, but may I suggest that we are just where God needs us to be … because God has a uniquely designed plan for each of us. Our message comes from the Book of Jeremiah, verses 10-14 (KJV). I hope that this message will inspire and encourage you.

10 For thus saith the Lord, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place. 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. 12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. 13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. 14 And I will be found of you, saith the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.

Most times, we single out verse 11, but today let’s put it in context, by looking at the backstory. Starting with Jeremiah 27:22 KJV, God says, They shall be carried to Babylon, and there shall they be until the day that I visit them, saith the Lord; then will I bring them up, and restore them to this place. God told Jeremiah to tell ALL the nations of Israel, good and bad about His plan & it was non-negotiable. I believe that God will use whatever He feels necessary to move us out of our comfort zone and into our purpose that He has ordained for us...a pandemic though!?!?

Point # 1 – Flourish & Be Blessed in ALL situations

Beginning in Jeremiah 29:5, God says now while you are in captivity in Babylon, I want you to Build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them;  He tells them to marry and have children and then He goes on to say in verse 7, Seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace. We should set aside that quiet time to seek the peace of God that passeth ALL understanding that will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:7 (paraphased)

Point # 2 – We have an Expected End

Jeremiah 29:11, The Message translation says, I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. 2020 did not catch God by surprise!

Point # 3 – Worship is a Command

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.  Jeremiah 29:13 KJV … We should take the time to worship God for Who is and to thank Him for what He’s already done. Not only praying for God to just fix things, but to ask Him what He needs us to do.

When we go through tough situations, it is to remind us that God is God. In Isaiah 55:8 (paraphased), He says, as far as the heaven is from the earth are my thoughts from your thoughts and my ways from your ways. We just need to stop trying to figure God out.  What He does is just not going to make sense! If we would truly trust God with our whole heart and lean not on our understanding, acknowledging Him in ALL our ways and He will direct our paths [and decisions]. Proverbs 3:5-6 (paraphrased) … even when we are tired, discouraged, uncertain and even stressed, God is Still God and He’s with us every step of the way (Read Psalm 91).

There’s not only a MIRACLE after this, there’s a MIRACLE in this, no matter what your “this” looks like.

God’s plans for us have not changed!

The Journey of Obedience – Journal Entry #2 (March, 2018)

I don’t know about you, but when things don’t go as I plan, I normally want to change the plan (which is a NATURAL thing to do??).  However, when we’re in the midst of a SPIRITUAL Journey, the rules change!  The Lord will ask us to do things that are a tad uncomfortable (like WAITING until He tells us to take the next step!).  He takes us out of the realm of reasoning and into the spiritual realm of FAITH.  Contrary to popular belief, when we operate in faith, it does not mean that there’s the absence of doubt.  I’m now two months into this new journey and I’m struggling!

And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak, …  II Corinthians 4:13 NKJV

So, I ENCOURAGED myself with this Facebook Inspiration post…

Journey of Obedience – Journal Entries #1 (March, 2018)

My day started with a Facebook memory for March 21st, 2012…

Facebook 321

The Holy Spirit reminded me that my true purpose is MINISTRY, which was birthed through Order Your Steps in September of 2011!  I had to be mindful of the task at hand and allow the Lord to lead and guide me along the way.

A very dear friend and minister sends me the Spirit of Prophecy bulletin for my daily devotional.   It never fails to hit me exactly where I am in that moment and today was no different…

SPIRIT OF PROPHECY

Revelation 19:10b “Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND    by  Marsha Burns

March 21, 2018:  Beloved, I want to help you see and hear spiritual truth.  To do this you must look without fear, prejudice, or expectation.  You cannot allow anything to color or distort what I show you, but rather take it at face value.  When you see something do not add anything to it or take anything away from it.  Look with eyes wide open, ears ready to hear, and a heart ready to receive, says the Lord.

John 16:13 “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”

Coincidence?  I think NOT!!

Saith the Lord …. to give you an expected end.

Most of you know that my car was stolen and since then, a million and one thoughts have been swirling around in my head.  After much anxiety, I was reassured that the Lord had allowed it to happen. Initially, because my purse & computer was NOT in the car, but then, what if the thief had come into the house?  Then guilt & shame have their time to weigh in… “How could I have been so stupid?”  I’d been warned that my area had been targeted by car theives, but surely I was exempt…. NOT!  Then doubt and condemnation had their turn… “We can’t afford a new car!”, ” Maybe I am just not managing the money the way the Lord wants me too.” “If I have to buy a car, what about my credit?  I haven’t even looked at a credit report since we moved into the house 11 years ago!”  Then finally when I thought that God had simply given up on me, He reveals himself to me.  I strongly suggest that we be very mindful of the seemingly small things.

Well, I had to rent a car, although, business had been relatively slow.  Soooooo, why not work a week and take off a week?  Look at how much money I’ll save.  Brilliant! Lo and behold, my insurance claim agent was AWESOME!  He walked me through the process almost seamlessly.  He tells me that the insurance company can make an offer for my car 3 weeks after the theft.  Really Lord??   Not 60 days, not even 30 days!  The claim agent promptly sent me the offer (it is about what I expected and it will cover a lot of car payments) and I pick up my check tomorrow.   Look at God!

In the interim, I’ve been car shopping on-line.  Although I really like driving a car, with my company, I need to be able to do some light hauling.  I was looking at the RAV4, because it’s sporty, but I didn’t know that it was a 4-cylinder 😦  ??  My husband suggested the Ford Edge.  It’s a 6-cylinder, but it’s not very sporty looking and probably has more hauling space than I need.  My husband adds that, “You think that it has more space than you need.  You really don’t know what God has in store for you.”  But get this… the most responsive dealership has been the Ford dealer. AND GET THIS THIS!!!  They brought the car to my house and demo’d it in my driveway.  It drove really smooth and they even offered to let me keep it overnight!

I am certain that what the Devil meant for evil, God has turned it around for my good.  I pick up my new car tonight!  Business is getting busy and my calendar is almost full for the next three (3) weeks. Coincidence?… I think NOT!  All things are going according to God’s plan.  I’ve tried to figure HIM out, but it just makes my brain hurt.  I’ve decided that it’s best that I not see my future, cuz I’d be like Daniel.  When God showed him the future, he fainted 3 times….. Lord, just continue to Order My Steps!

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.   Isaiah 55:8-9

“For we know that ALL things work together for good to those who love God , to those who are the called according to His purpose.”  Romans 8:28
