“Food for the Soul” for the Weekend!
As some of you may be aware, I’ve created an inspirational blog entitled Holy Ghost Downloads. So, here’s a little “Food for the Soul” for the Weekend…
No One Talk about Bruno!
If you’d prefer to listen to this blog post, please click the link to our podcast…
I absolutely loved the movie, Encanto. In the movie, Bruno, the son, had a gift that was perceived to have a negative effect on their lives, not only by his family, but by his community. So Bruno left and no one was supposed to talk about Bruno!
During our family conversation after the movie, someone said “no one talk about Kevin!” and we kinda chuckled. But in reality, I’ve not seen Kevin, my son, is almost 3 years. Unfortunately, this is not the first time in his 43 years on this earth that he has just walked away from me. I used to ask often, “what did I do”, but then I had to stop, instead I decided to ask the Lord, “why do you leave this thorn in my flesh”? We often interpret this scripture with negative feelings, but as the Apostle Paul explained,
…even though I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So, to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud.
So, I have learned to see my thorn as a gift that God gave me a gift to help me to realize just how much I need Him. He matches my thorn to my course, to my calling, not “to torment, but to mentor”. It is what God has given me to teach me and to show me His extraordinary Grace, He honors me with His presence. There are some things that God can’t teach us by advice only, but at times, we must endure adversity. It’s in those times that we must learn to boast and celebrate in God’s Glory for His Grace.
Is there someone that has simply walked away from you? Someone that you held close and just can’t understand why they would leave. Is there a situation or circumstance in your life that God has allowed and again, it just makes no sense? Well, it’s ok to talk about Bruno! God already knows how you feel and He’s there to listen. The pain doesn’t do away, right away, and to be honest, we may never truly understand why God does what He does, but Paul also said…
Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. 9 Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 10 That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
In the movie, Bruno does come back, but that’s all I’m going to say. I guess you’ll just have to watch the movie. As for Kevin, I don’t really know, but when I get a little anxious…
It’s so important that I take a quiet moment and listen to what the Holy Spirit is saying…
Push Forward!
The literal definition of “prosper” is to push forward, which carries the idea of thriving and succeeding in everything we do. So for 2022, let’s make a commitment to ourselves that whatever we put our hands to, we will see it through!

Hope for Today… and Tomorrow!
This year is almost over! However, this time of year is going to be tough for a number of people. I was excited to share this episode, but although my testimony will surely pale in comparison to many of you, God’s Word will ALWAYS Stand True… I pray that something is said that will let you know that there is “Hope for Today… and Tomorrow!”
Happy Thanksgiving!
An Extraordinary Gift!
A friend and client of mine was given the opportunity to help her best friend to prepare a house for sell. During the process, she found this book and thought of me…
Faith versus Feelings
Although, I have new blog for my more inspirational posts, I thought that it would be a good idea to share this one with you. If you’d prefer to listen to this blog post, please click the link to our podcast… I pray that you enjoy!
It was 6:30 am on last Wednesday morning and I’m wondering what to share with you this week… but I’m on the verge of tears, because I’m in my feeling AGAIN! I’ve been in a real “interesting” place for the last few weeks, but I don’t want to get to far ahead of myself. So I decided to get up and get a cup of coffee. As I was standing in the kitchen, I heard the scripture, “The race is not given to the swift... ” So I went to my Bible app and found Ecclesiastes 9:11, which says this in the New Living Translation:
I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time.
Then the Holy Spirit said, “When you are being prepared for what you need, not necessarily for what you want, the battle between your faith and your feelings will begin!” and I started to chuckle, because the Holy Spirit is always listening!?
So let’s talk a little about where I’ve been for the last few weeks. I’m self-employed and business has been rather slow recently. It’s not unusual for my business to fluctuate, but it’s during these times that I tend to get a little restless (can any of you relate?). Unfortunately, when I get restless, I have a lot of time to get in my feelings. I go into that “what if” headspace and although I’m always bombarded by the Word of God… in time, my feelings will take me back into the hole of uncertainty and doubt. Why does the Lord have to constantly remind of His Faithfulness? Every time I’ve been in this place, He’s brought me out. We have been blessed beyond measure during this season. So why am I still fighting my feelings… so that I can strengthen my faith. OMG! I actually heard that as I was writing it.
King David said it this way…
Why am I discouraged?
Psalms 42:5
Why is my heart so sad?
I will put my hope in God!
I will praise him again—
my Savior and 6 my God!
You may want to take a moment to read all of Psalms 42 and 43. David uses this verse in both, but in somewhat different perspectives. But just know that… with each battle we face, our faith gets stronger and stronger!

So I guess I’ m just going to have to stop crying and keep working…
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
Philippians 2:13
Introducing “Holy Ghost Downloads”!
I am SUPER, SUPER excited to share with all of you my new blog, entitled “Holy Ghost Downloads”! But before I start I want to give an ENORMOUS SHOUT OUT to Cindy Knoke! Please take a moment to take a look at all of the AMAZING photography on her blog. I believe that Cindy has been on WordPress as long as I have and she has always been one of my biggest encourager. She has consistently “LIKED” all of my posts, which many times kept me motivated to continue blogging.
Cindy, Thank You!
As I eluded to earlier, I’ve been on WordPress almost 10 years. I started my blog, Finding Order in Chaos when I started my business, Order Your Steps LLC. If you have followed me any length of time, you know that Order Your Steps has been much more of a ministry to me than a business. Therefore, I’ve given you not only organizing tips, but there have been numerous spiritually inspired messages, which I believe have been sent directly from the Holy Spirit, that I have been compelled to share, thus the birth of “Holy Ghost Downloads”.
In the midst of this pandemic, my mantra has been “Moving Forward by Faith”, we can’t look back, we must look ahead. We have endured so much for the past two years. Many of us are hurting, heavy-hearted and feeling a tad hopeless, however, I truly believe that the Holy Spirit is speaking to us in so many ways in the midst of our most difficult times. Therefore, rather you’re here at Finding Order in Chaos with tips to help you to bring Order to your space -or- over at Holy Ghost Downloads where I hope that you will take a moment or two to listen to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to bring Order to our minds and hearts…
It’s a New Day, Every Day!
My prayer is that you will find inspiration, encourgagement and hope!
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 14:26 KJV
Time to Take a Pause and Re-Center

We still may be trying to balance too many things… Daily routines constantly changing, schools and offices reopening, trying to avoid CICADAs! We can not do ALL of this by ourselves.
“Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word”.
Psalm 103:20 KJV
So Take a Pause!

Life at Home during a Pandemic
There are times that it feels like some people have forgotten that we are STILL in a Worldwide Pandemic. For some folks, like me, we are reminded EVERY day. I live in the house with three (3) adults; my husband and my two grown daughters. My husband has not missed a day of work since the pandemic began and I’m sure that he needs a break from time to time from us ladies, hormones and all. For us ladies, we are homebodies by nature and for the most part introverts, so we haven’t gone totally stir-crazy being in the house. Believe this or not, we not only love each other, but we really like each other, so it has been a rather peaceful existence. Now there are those moments, when we may step on a nerve or two, but we try to resolve all issues quickly and not let them fester. This means that it’s imperative that we have our own spaces. Please don’t misunderstand, we spend most of our day in our own spaces, but we still visit each other periodically, especially when we need a break from our computers or Zoom or it’s time to eat.
For my oldest daughter, the graphic designer and entrepreneur, she spends most of the day between her office and her bedroom. For my youngest daughter, who has her Masters Degree in Library Sciences and Information Management, her bedroom also serves as her office and she spends a lot of time on Zoom.
As for me, my bedroom has always been my place of Peace and Serenity. It is so critical, especially now, that we all have a place for some “me” time. We want to make sure that there’s NO clutter in our area of Rest. Yes, I always have my professional organizer hat on. Many of my clients have removed their TV from the bedroom, so that they can read instead and I strongly suggest that we not work in bed. You can see that I have a small area in the corner of my bedroom, which serves as my office.
I may have shared with you, once or twice, that I truly prefer organizing over cleaning, so although I’ve had a lot more spare time, I really haven’t wanted to do either. .. but, no I don’t have a dirty, unorganized house, I’ve just be a little slothful at times. Recently, I had my 2nd COVID vaccine and was down for the count the following day…. but the next morning, I had to work on my OWN pantry and lazy susan!!
As I’ve already mentioned, I live with three adults and stuff may not go back “exactly” where they came from, but hopefully, the items will be put in the same general area. Since we will be continuing to grocery shop on-line, at least we can kinda see everything and won’t purchase duplicate items. Note: If you purge and organize any area, I can ALMOST guarantee that you’ll have more space!!
Well, you have now seen a glimace of the day in the life of a professional organizer on hiatus due to COVID, but let’s not forget my relaxation / “me” time, which is spent reading bible plans, doing jigsaw puzzles and Words with Friends.
So by now, you may be wondering why am I telling you all this… Although this last year has been one that we have NEVER EVER seen before and it’s not over, we’ve made adjustments, some were major. There’s a Lot that we truly don’t understand, but in spite of what we see and feel, God has continued to bless us beyond measure. Since I started my mission, Order Your Steps LLC, almost 10 years ago, along with this blog, my messages has been, and will always be, to encourage you to not only Survive, but to Thrive, no matter your situation or circumstance.
Whether you are Revamping your Closet, Reevaluating your Career or Reigniting your Business…
