Organizing Project Complete!

This project was to organize an entire home, from garage & family room to the upstairs bedrooms. I met my client at a vending event that I attended to share info about ShelfGenie and Order Your Steps. She arrived just when the event was beginning to shut down. She passed by our booth and she said that she really needed to get her home organized. However, she simply took the info and said that she would call me. Arline, ShelfGenie franchise owner, said “Did you get her phone number?” Please understand that God always Orders Your Steps…. I kinda chased her down and got her phone number. AMAZING!! A few weeks later, I did her FREE in-home assessment and the rest is history! 😀

She’s been truly AWESOME! She’s been very patient with me and has worked diligently throughout the entire organizing process. However, at times, it was simply overwhelming for her, but she stuck with it. Although, there were times that she just couldn’t get her homework done, she was always ready to work when I showed up.

Once motivated, she began doing other improvements to her home, i.e. painting, deck refinishing and replacing patio doors… I mean BIG stuff. She is living proof that once you start to establish more organization in your home, it promotes an Order to your life were also times that we had an opportunity to discuss her work life…It is all about Order!!

HOORAY! We have finished the bulk of our project, and now we will need to do some fine tuning to a few areas of her home. We will establish a maintenance program that will enable her to continue what we have started. Our official project wrap-up was last Friday. It felt like we were closing a major chapter of her life, which I guess we have! I appreciate how the Lord has allowed me to minister to her during this last few months. Moving forward, I will check in with her by phone or preferrably a pop-up visit every other week or so. In addition, we will have a two-hour organizing session once a month and then we’ll just see what happening from here! 😀

I have a small prayer circle and we pray every Tuesday night. We try to bring forth those things that the Holy Spirit has laid on our heart. So one of our major topics recently has been “Don’t be discouraged!”, Don’t be distracted!” It is amazing how the smallest or even big things will catch us off guard and throw us totally off track. So we have to remember that God is always preparing us for the work that He has for us to do.

I had a small situation that seemed really BIG at the time and I got caught up in my emotions. I really hates when that happens!!! It was finance related and although I had caused the error (online bill payment, gone wrong!), I tried diligently to undo it, to no avail. So, my mind immediately went into overdrive when what I feared would happen, DID! I felt that I had to move fast and with each phone call I made, I was on the verge of tears. The situation took me totally by surprise. By the third phone call, which was to the bank, the lady was so nice and considerate, that I couldn’t help but smile. The Lord had already told me earlier that morning to simply listen to His voice…. and He spoke to me ever so softly during that conversation.

God has to constantly remind me that I am going to make mistakes!(click link)… and I am just gonna have to get over it. Remember, we will always be a work is process. God is simply NOT through with us yet! Please take a listen to the song….

My Dad … and the Father of my Children

My dad and I were never really the best of friends. He was just the one that corrected me ALL the time, because it seems like I never did anything right! What I didn’t understand then, is that he was raised to be a strong disciplinarian. I don’t remember him being the huggy type. But I knew ~~thought~~ that he loved me. I knew that I loved him, but I didn’t like him very much at times. I also knew that in spite of it all, I wanted him to be proud of me, no matter what!

Now that I am a grown woman and he had passed away, I see that there was another side to my dad. He was loving and BIG hearted. He was a giving person and loved children! He was always there for me and my family…. and he made me the person that I am today. He taught me to be strong and independent. He helped to prepare me for what life held ahead of me.

As time passed, I ~~swore~~ was determined that I would never marry a man like my dad…. no way, no how!!! …. And Then HE came along. He was built like my dad, even favored my dad and has somewhat of the same temperament of my dad. BUT there was something different??? He seemed to go out of his way to show me that he loved me. He was romantic and caring and he thought that I was beautiful and still tells me that all the time. BUT he still reminded me a LOT of my dad. He was rather strict, I mean protective and once he made his mind up…. that was it! But he truly, truly loves me, without a doubt.

Over the years, life has happened and happened some more! We have cried together and laughed together. There has been times for better or worse, in sickness and health,for richer and poorer. Now 30 years later, a son & two daughters, he is my life, my husband… the Father of my Children! It continues to amaze me that as we journey through life, we see that our steps have always be ordered and when we get through our former years, we see that our latter years ARE our better years!!

I know, I know I have been very lax when it comes to posting here on the blog. I know I have said that I have been busy, but I figured you all deserved to know exactly what I have been busy with.

You may or may not know that I am a graphic designer by trade and the last couple of months I have been doing a lot of graphic design projects. I am not complaining by any means. This is what I love to do. But I just have to figure out how to manage both; my job as a designer and my job as a blogger.

My Life is Amazing and In Order, but NOT perfect!

ALERT! This is going to be a post of RAMBLINGS!!!! I often struggle to decide on what to share with my followers, which totals over 800, including my FB friends… THANKS TO ALL OF YOU for taking the time to stop by from time to time! I have also discovered that I get a better response to my life posts than my organizing posts. There are only so many Before & After pictures that I can share, but there will be more of them too, as time goes by… Yes, the RAMBLING has already begun! 😀

Have you ever had to stop and remind yourself just how amazing your life is???? We had a HIGH time in the Lord in church today and there were testimonies of great miracles that came forth!!! I became overwhelmed again with just how amazing God is and how amazing my life is, because of His Favor towards me and my family. He is opening so many doors for us and closing those doors that must be closed. Where do I begin?

** My husband is bringing in overtime pay, just when we needed it most, as God would have it! Now don’t get it wrong, my husband has had to work 12 hour shifts from 6 am to 6 pm and of course, there have been persons that have gone out of their way to get on his last nerve, even more so than usual, during these long hours!

** My oldest daughter’s graphic arts company, INKED DESIGNS, is growing. She is doing freelance work now for advertising agencies. She is only 25 and owns her own business. How Great is That!!

*** My youngest daughter, yes I must say it again… has graduated college and she is just about to finish her first novel, that will be published. There has been other books written, since she was a teenager. Those will be edited and published later. God’s Favor!

** Then, I remain cautiously optimistic about my son, who turns 36 this year. In recent months, we had a heart to heart talk, one like we have never, never, ever had before. I know that the Lord is working. He texts me with “Hi, beautiful! – or – Hi,I love you! – out of nowhere???? Please keep praying with me for his complete deliverance.

And if that isn’t enough, Order Your Steps is growing! Clients are coming from all different directions… Their steps ordered by the Lord! It’s amazing to me to see the lives that He has allowed me to touch, so far. There are really no words to describe!

BUT…. my life is not perfect and to be totally honest… it is not meant to be. 🙂 There is so much that the Lord needs for us to do and there are various ways in which He is preparing us for this journey called Life... maybe it’s time for you to remind yourself of just how AMAZING your Life is… even if it isn’t perfect!!!!
