It’s a New Season

It’s a New Season and the Name of the Game is CHANGE!!  The Fall season is the best time of the year to prepare for change.  Nature does it perfectly, as the leaves change color and fall from the trees. We watch in amazement… Our lives are also changing constantly,  yet another NEW season of growth & transition.

For most of us, the shift in our daily routine, it again is a routine …. The kids are back to school and we are on a Fall schedule to make sure the homework is done before bedtime. Preparations are made the night before, to ensure that everyone gets out the house in time and in their respective places on time.

So from September until about the middle of December, we are in transition.  I’d like to suggest that we start preparing for the holidays now, because before you know it, a new year will be upon us.  It’s a New Season! Take a moment, just a moment, to look back over the year of 2017.  Look at how much our Lives has changed. The kids are a little older and I am sure that we are a LOT wiser.

Now that we have had just a moment to reflect on our past, let’s look AHEAD to our future.  Think Positive thoughts!  Capture our dreams & visions and don’t let them go! Identify those obstacles, which may hinder our smooth transition & growth… those things that might get in the way.

Plan NOW for an AMAZING …

The leaves are changing colors….. Are you ready for your new season?

As the seasons of the year changes, so changes our seasons of life.  Are you ready for a new season in your life?  Most of us are a year older and a year wiser.  Some have had major life changing events, but some of us have just flowed through 2014 without a hitch.  Now that the year is truly drawing to a close, what was the year of 2014 for you?

In biblical terms, 2014 is a year of “double completion”, a year of “double for your trouble”!  … A year of spiritual perfection.  As I look back on 2014,  it was another year of learning and growing, although now it seemed to have just flown by.  It was a year for me to trust the Lord even more, by allowing Him to truly Order my steps.

The most momentous events for me were:

  • My youngest daughter’s graduated college… This is the longest that she has been home in 4 years!  In a few weeks, she will be publishing her first book, Last Look Back!  Check out the link and help her to choose a book cover, designed by her sister.
  • I spent some time with two of my grandchildren, whom I hadn’t seen in more than 4 years!!!!!!!!!!
  • On Sept. 19th, my oldest daughter left her 9 to 5, to focus on her own company, Inked Designs.
  • My husband has concluded that being a security guard is in his blood…. I could have told him that!  Now we just need to find a vehicle where he can share all of his knowledge and experience with those that are willing to pay for it.
  • I’ve even had some enlightening conversations with my son and we didn’t argue.  🙂

10522986_sOn Sept. 20th, I turned a year older and yes, I believe I’m wiser!  It’s interesting as I reflect back on the year.  Last night, I attended my church’s 10th anniversary banquet and the Elder asked the question, “Are you willing to trust God with the details of your future?”  The essence of the message is that we are always where we are supposed to be, at the exact moment that we are supposed to be there… even if that moment is a painful one.   In the Book of Genesis, it tells us that Joseph trusted God with the details of his life.  His moment in the pit, where his brothers left him to die.  The moment in Potiphar’s house where he was wrongly accused.  His moment in prison… all details that lead up to his moment in the king’s palace, where he became the Prime Minister of Egypt.

In 2014, there were very few, if any, painful moments for me, but there were moments of uncertainty, yet moments of expectation.  I know that I am headed for the King’s palace, although I don’t know all the details of how I am going to get there.

As the leaves on the trees are changing colors, Our New Season is HERE, are we ready?  Did we accomplish our goals for this year?  Is our house in Order?  As we anticipate the year of 2015, do we know where we’ve been and more importantly, where we’re going?

The leaves are changing colors, and soon the leaves  will be falling from the trees … and we will yet be into ANOTHER season!

Fall into Order!

The Fall season is the best time of the year to prepare for change. This is a season of transition.  We have had to move quicker from the summer to Back to School!  For most, the daily routine has changed. As I remember it, the children’s bedtime changes.  We have to do homework and prepare the clothes the night before.  It was also wise, to have the book bags packed and lunches prepared and in the frig. My kids didn’t just jump out of bed the next morning… so we had to allow for the slow movement to get teeth brushed, face washed, etc. etc. etc. , which made the prep the night before even more critical.

Our work routines may also change slightly.  In most businesses, not all, the summer months are a tad slower.  Workloads may vary as we cover vacations, however, when activity ramps up and everyone is back to work, adjustments have to be made.

So from September until about the middle of November, we are in transition.  Then we begin preparing for the holidays and before you know it, a new year is upon us.  I would suggest that we “Fall Into Order”.   Start planning now!  In a little more than six (6) months, we will be ending the first quarter of 2014.  I realize that some of us REALLY don’t want to think that far ahead, however, it will be here before you know it.

Let me suggest that Falling in Order, be a positive transition! Identify three (3) things that you want to accomplish. No, I don’t mean resolutions….. but 3 realistic goals, i.e., read a great book, plan a family outing (that’s not a part of the hustle and bustle of the holidays), make a date night with the spouse and keep it.  Order doesn’t mean just organizing the closet or basement, yes, it may help, but there’s more to it.

Identify those obstacles which may hinder a smooth transition… those things that might get in the way of the 3 positive goals that you want to accomplish in the next 6 months, 180 days, 4320 hours.  You do have time, if you plan now to Fall into Order!
