Saith the Lord …. to give you an expected end.

Most of you know that my car was stolen and since then, a million and one thoughts have been swirling around in my head.  After much anxiety, I was reassured that the Lord had allowed it to happen. Initially, because my purse & computer was NOT in the car, but then, what if the thief had come into the house?  Then guilt & shame have their time to weigh in… “How could I have been so stupid?”  I’d been warned that my area had been targeted by car theives, but surely I was exempt…. NOT!  Then doubt and condemnation had their turn… “We can’t afford a new car!”, ” Maybe I am just not managing the money the way the Lord wants me too.” “If I have to buy a car, what about my credit?  I haven’t even looked at a credit report since we moved into the house 11 years ago!”  Then finally when I thought that God had simply given up on me, He reveals himself to me.  I strongly suggest that we be very mindful of the seemingly small things.

Well, I had to rent a car, although, business had been relatively slow.  Soooooo, why not work a week and take off a week?  Look at how much money I’ll save.  Brilliant! Lo and behold, my insurance claim agent was AWESOME!  He walked me through the process almost seamlessly.  He tells me that the insurance company can make an offer for my car 3 weeks after the theft.  Really Lord??   Not 60 days, not even 30 days!  The claim agent promptly sent me the offer (it is about what I expected and it will cover a lot of car payments) and I pick up my check tomorrow.   Look at God!

In the interim, I’ve been car shopping on-line.  Although I really like driving a car, with my company, I need to be able to do some light hauling.  I was looking at the RAV4, because it’s sporty, but I didn’t know that it was a 4-cylinder 😦  ??  My husband suggested the Ford Edge.  It’s a 6-cylinder, but it’s not very sporty looking and probably has more hauling space than I need.  My husband adds that, “You think that it has more space than you need.  You really don’t know what God has in store for you.”  But get this… the most responsive dealership has been the Ford dealer. AND GET THIS THIS!!!  They brought the car to my house and demo’d it in my driveway.  It drove really smooth and they even offered to let me keep it overnight!

I am certain that what the Devil meant for evil, God has turned it around for my good.  I pick up my new car tonight!  Business is getting busy and my calendar is almost full for the next three (3) weeks. Coincidence?… I think NOT!  All things are going according to God’s plan.  I’ve tried to figure HIM out, but it just makes my brain hurt.  I’ve decided that it’s best that I not see my future, cuz I’d be like Daniel.  When God showed him the future, he fainted 3 times….. Lord, just continue to Order My Steps!

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.   Isaiah 55:8-9

“For we know that ALL things work together for good to those who love God , to those who are the called according to His purpose.”  Romans 8:28

2015, The Year of a New Direction…

Well, 2015 is here!  The biblical meaning of the number 15 is a new direction and to rest in God.  I don’t see my direction changing, but the scripture that’s been resonating in my spirit, if you haven’t guessed is ….

So I will simply rest and wait for His instructions.  I’m not sure what God has in store for me this year, but, I’ve decided to just allow Him to continue to Order My Steps. When I reflect back to my first post of 2014, “Ramblings of what’s ahead for me in 2014“, my words for this year of 2015 are exactly the same.  I am not sure if that’s good or bad, but I plan on staying the course …. FULL SPEED AHEAD!!!

I WISH EVERYONE A VERY BLESSED AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!!

2015 is quickly approaching…

Most people believe that as a professional organizer, that I am always organized… I must say that I believe that I am more organized than most, however, I too must take time to re-organize.  Granted I try not to let it get too out of hand, but for me, it is very therapeutic to get organized so that I can be more productive and more efficient.  In spite of my very hectic schedule, it is important to invest time, in order not to waste time in the future.

I spent two (2) days last week putting things in Order!  I started with my closets and dresser drawers…

Then I worked on my office…

This is a project that I am working on for a client, who wants to get all her files in order for 2015.  She has a number of big projects for next year, so she wants to be prepared to work with a spirit of excellence and divine order, as God has ordained!

Do you have a plan for 2015?  You do know that God has one for you, so I would suggest that you get prepared.  Take some time to put your things in Order and be ready to prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers….

The leaves are changing colors….. Are you ready for your new season?

21448825_s

As the seasons of the year changes, so changes our seasons of life.  Are you ready for a new season in your life?  Most of us are a year older and a year wiser.  Some have had major life changing events, but some of us have just flowed through 2014 without a hitch.  Now that the year is truly drawing to a close, what was the year of 2014 for you?

In biblical terms, 2014 is a year of “double completion”, a year of “double for your trouble”!  … A year of spiritual perfection.  As I look back on 2014,  it was another year of learning and growing, although now it seemed to have just flown by.  It was a year for me to trust the Lord even more, by allowing Him to truly Order my steps.

The most momentous events for me were:

  • My youngest daughter’s graduated college… This is the longest that she has been home in 4 years!  In a few weeks, she will be publishing her first book, Last Look Back!  Check out the link and help her to choose a book cover, designed by her sister.
  • I spent some time with two of my grandchildren, whom I hadn’t seen in more than 4 years!!!!!!!!!!
  • On Sept. 19th, my oldest daughter left her 9 to 5, to focus on her own company, Inked Designs.
  • My husband has concluded that being a security guard is in his blood…. I could have told him that!  Now we just need to find a vehicle where he can share all of his knowledge and experience with those that are willing to pay for it.
  • I’ve even had some enlightening conversations with my son and we didn’t argue.  🙂

10522986_sOn Sept. 20th, I turned a year older and yes, I believe I’m wiser!  It’s interesting as I reflect back on the year.  Last night, I attended my church’s 10th anniversary banquet and the Elder asked the question, “Are you willing to trust God with the details of your future?”  The essence of the message is that we are always where we are supposed to be, at the exact moment that we are supposed to be there… even if that moment is a painful one.   In the Book of Genesis, it tells us that Joseph trusted God with the details of his life.  His moment in the pit, where his brothers left him to die.  The moment in Potiphar’s house where he was wrongly accused.  His moment in prison… all details that lead up to his moment in the king’s palace, where he became the Prime Minister of Egypt.

In 2014, there were very few, if any, painful moments for me, but there were moments of uncertainty, yet moments of expectation.  I know that I am headed for the King’s palace, although I don’t know all the details of how I am going to get there.

As the leaves on the trees are changing colors, Our New Season is HERE, are we ready?  Did we accomplish our goals for this year?  Is our house in Order?  As we anticipate the year of 2015, do we know where we’ve been and more importantly, where we’re going?

The leaves are changing colors, and soon the leaves  will be falling from the trees … and we will yet be into ANOTHER season!

August is a Month of Change

I’ve decided to reblog this post from two years ago. All the info is very relevant for this August, now 2014, the Year of “Double Completion”. We are still in the midst of constant changes, ALL for the Better. Our best is yet to come ….. Hope you enjoy!

August is the 8th month and  in biblical terms, the number 8 means “new beginnings”, in the year 2012, the Year of Order.

August has always been a month of significant events for me.  August 4th was the 14th anniversary of the death of my father, which is usually just a passing thought.  For some reason, the thoughts of my dad lingered a little longer than usual this year.  My father raised me as a first son (which also has strong biblical implications, but I’ve digressed).  He was very strict and a strong disciplinarian with me, but not with my sister (another story for another time).  So needless to say, my dad and I were not the best of friends.  But I loved him and late in my adult life, I realized that he loved me too.  August 7th would have been his 78th…

On the night of Monday June 23, I was in a car accident. The cab I was riding in, after hitting one car, for some reason it appears that the accelerator stuck and we sped off for about a mile before we ended up in a ditch on the side of the road.

A terrifying experience indeed, but I discovered a few things. This was my first time in a major accident, riding in an ambulance and going to the emergency room so forgive me if these things aren’t new to you.

1. Paramedics are required to take people to the hospital if their cars end up in ditches to make sure there are no neck or spinal injuries. In order to transport you, they put you on a hard, flat board called a baseboard, put what seems like a wrestling helmet on your head and strap you down with…

My Dad … and the Father of my Children

My dad and I were never really the best of friends.  He was just the one that corrected me ALL the time, because it seems like I never did anything right!  What I didn’t understand then, is that he was raised to be a strong disciplinarian.  I don’t remember him being the huggy type.  But I knew thought that he loved me.  I knew that I loved him, but I didn’t like him very much at times.  I also knew that in spite of it all, I wanted him to be proud of me, no matter what!

Now that I am a grown woman and he had passed away, I see that there was another side to my dad.  He was loving and BIG hearted.  He was a giving person and loved children!  He was always there for me and my family…. and he made me the person that I am today.  He taught me to be strong and independent.  He helped to prepare me for what life held ahead of me.

As time passed, I swore was determined that I would never marry a man like my dad…. no way, no how!!!  …. And Then HE came along.  He was built like my dad, even favored my dad and has somewhat of the same temperament of my dad. BUT there was something different???  He seemed to go out of his way to show me that he loved me.  He was romantic and caring and he thought that I was beautiful and still tells me that all the time.  BUT he still reminded me a LOT of my dad.  He was rather strict, I mean protective and once he made his mind up…. that was it!  But he truly, truly loves me, without a doubt.

Over the years, life has happened and happened some more!  We have cried together and laughed together.  There has been times for better or worse, in sickness and health, for richer and poorer.  Now 30 years later, a son & two daughters, he is my life, my husbandthe Father of my Children!  It continues to amaze me that as we journey through life, we see that our steps have always be ordered and when we get through our former years, we see that our latter years ARE our better years!!

Elayna’s Life: An Update

Hello Everyone, I thought that I would share some of the work that my daughter, the graphic designer has done. Please check her out at http://www.thinkinkeddesigns.com.

Elayna S's avatarThe Junoesque

I know, I know I have been very lax when it comes to posting here on the blog. I know I have said that I have been busy, but I figured you all deserved to know exactly what I have been busy with.

You may or may not know that I am a graphic designer by trade and the last couple of months I have been doing a lot of graphic design projects. I am not complaining by any means. This is what I love to do. But I just have to figure out how to manage both; my job as a designer and my job as a blogger.

So what exactly have I been working on?

TTYA

The biggest project I have been working on recently is with Taller Than Your Average (TTYA). If you don’t know, TTYA is a London based tall clothing company who recently celebrated their…
