Forgiveness

This post is really random and may seem like it came out of nowhere, which it kinda did.  But I believe that I should still send out this post, because someone needs it.

There are some of you out there that have been hurt very badly.  Beyond what anyone could ever imagine.  For some the hurt just won’t go away.  There is a song that I want you to hear, which is called “A Heart that Forgives”.   I am only asking that you listen to the words.  Forgiveness is not easy and I understand that, but I believe that it is decision that you must make in order to begin the healing process.

First, you must forgive yourself and yes, then you must forgive the person(s) who hurt you.  Forgiveness is not for the other person, it is for YOU!

One of my fellow blogger, Anne, had the same idea.

I read this post last night, “Let it Go”

 http://mylifeuncutalmost.wordpress.com/2012/04/08/let-it-go/

Phase 1 – Step 1

Phase 1 of Organizing is normally the most difficult.  Now the steps may sound a little complicated, but I am trying to emphasis the importance of taking the project seriously, so that you will finish it.  Once you have completed your first project, you truly look forward to doing the next one and the next one, and the real FUN begins!

Rule # 1 – Please don’t buy anything until Phase 1 is complete.  One of the biggest mistake that people make is that they think that if they buy a whole lot of plastic bins and “organizing” products they will get organized.  It really doesn’t happen that way and you have spent money unnecessarily.

After you identify the area, you need to determine the following:

  • who currently uses the area
  • who may use the area in the future
  • how the area is used now and how to you want to use it

The other thing you want to understand is, is there another area of the house that is used for the same purpose or holds the same items.

Ask the rest of the users, how best to utilize the space.  Yes, I know you just want to do it and get it over with, but unfortunately, you will not be able to maintain the organization of the space without their input.

Consolidate the items, if necessary, from the other areas of the house that are used in the same manner.

Depending on the answers to these questions, Step 2 begins….

Now what is Phase 1 of Organizing?

Phase 1 is when you decide in your mind and heart that you need to organize.  In most cases, organizing can be a big decision.  You have grown accustomed to the clutter and it just continues to be overwhelming and taking that first step can be very stressful.  So once you have made the decision and you are truly ready to start and stick with it, you are in Phase 1.  Then, I would suggest that you start with a small area.

For example:  Under your sink  (kitchen or bathroom)

Here is a funny excerpt from Sandra Felton and Marsha Sim’s brand new book, SMART OFFICE ORGANIZING

…more Diagnoses by the D.O.(Doctor of Organization) Chapter 3, “Not Brain Surgery…but close”

Decisionalysis. Paralysis of the decision-making ability of an individual.

Clutterholic. Compulsively creates chaos in well- ordered areas.

Shelf Denial. Avoidance of acquiring enough shelving to hold the necessary equipment, resulting in the use of floor space as one large flat shelf.

Distractophelia. Condition of repeatedly losing focus in the middle of a thought or action, resulting in a trail of started-but-unfinished activities.

“Creating and maintaining an office that both looks good and works well definitely isn’t as difficult as performing brain surgery. But for many of us who
seem to have come up short in the distribution of organizing genes, it feels like it is.”

I thought these definitions were quite entertaining and I wanted to share them with you…
