My Life is Amazing and In Order, but NOT perfect!

ALERT!  This is going to be a post of RAMBLINGS!!!!  I often struggle to decide on what to share with my followers, which totals over 800, including my FB friendsTHANKS TO ALL OF YOU for taking the time to stop by from time to time!   I have also discovered that I get a better response to my life posts than my organizing posts.  There are only so many Before & After pictures that I can share, but there will be more of them too, as time goes by… Yes, the RAMBLING has already begun! 😀

Have you ever had to stop and remind yourself just how amazing your life is???? We had a HIGH time in the Lord in church today and there were testimonies of great miracles that came forth!!!  I became overwhelmed again with just how amazing God is and how amazing my life is, because of His Favor towards me and my family.  He is opening so many doors for us and closing those doors that must be closed.  Where do I begin?

** My husband is bringing in overtime pay, just when we needed it most, as God would have it!  Now don’t get it wrong, my husband has had to work 12 hour shifts from 6 am to 6 pm and of course, there have been persons that have gone out of their way to get on his last nerve, even more so than usual, during these long hours!

** My oldest daughter’s graphic arts company, INKED DESIGNS, is growing.  She is doing freelance work now for advertising agencies.  She is only 25 and owns her own business.  How Great is That!!

*** My youngest daughter, yes I must say it again… has graduated college and she is just about to finish her first novel, that will be published.  There has been other books written, since she was a teenager.  Those will  be edited and published later.  God’s Favor!

** Then, I remain cautiously optimistic about my son, who turns 36 this year.  In recent months, we had a heart to heart talk, one like we have never, never, ever had before.  I know that the Lord is working.  He texts me with “Hi, beautiful! – or – Hi,I love you! – out of nowhere????  Please keep praying with me for his complete deliverance.

And if that isn’t enough, Order Your Steps is growing!  Clients are coming from all different directions… Their steps ordered by the Lord!  It’s amazing to me to see the lives that He has allowed me to touch, so far.  There are really no words to describe!

BUT…. my life is not perfect and to be totally honest… it is not meant to be.  🙂 There is so much that the Lord needs for us to do and there are various ways in which He is preparing us for this journey called Life... maybe it’s time for you to remind yourself of just how AMAZING your Life is… even if it isn’t perfect!!!!

MY LATTER YEARS ARE BECOMING MY BETTER YEARS!

…. til Death do Us part!

Before writing this post, I took a trip down memory lane.  It is amazing how much can happen in your life in 30 years….  and as a friend of mine always says “To the most casual observer”, it is obvious that the Lord truly Orders Our Steps!  On Monday, March 10th, my husband and I will celebrate our 30th anniversary.

Wedding Post 036This morning, I asked him to sum it up in 3 sentences, but all he said was “We were made for each other” and when you consider the faithfulness of our Creator, it is obvious that we were meant to be…. It is virtually impossible to tell you every thing that has happened over the past 30 years, but I will try to give you just a few highlights!

For my husband, it was love at first sight…. BUT for me, it was not that simple!  I had a LOT of baggage.  However, I began to see just how much he loved me, even if I did not love myself.  He was the first man to ever tell me that I was beautiful!  He asked me to marry him within a month of our first date (Sept. 1983), but I definitely wasn’t ready…

But he hung in there and we were married in 1984!

In January, 1985, we had our first son, Kurt, Jr.  He was 3 months premature and only weighed 1 lb. 8 oz.  He only lived for about a month.  TOUGH, TOUGH, TIME!  But as the years went back, we understood that God had a purpose. “For better or worse”…

Reflecting on happier times, I was already working for Xerox when we met, so we got to travel on Xerox’ dime and ours too. 🙂 We went to St. Thomas, Bermuda, Aruba (Xerox Cruise), Florida (Disney World, Universal Studios), California, Las Vegas…. Wow! I didn’t know that we had been to so many places.

Wedding Post 038

Of course, the most memorable event was when our daughter was born in 1989. There are no words to describe…

And three (3) years later, there was another one…

Wedding Post 041

Marriage isn’t always easy.  We have to work at it every day, especially during those moments, when I simply want to strangle him!

Wedding Post 037

In everyone’s life that are ups and downs, good times and not so good times, joy and pain… When we stood before God, the preachers, our family and friends, we committed our lives to one another. We vowed to love each other, for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health… ‘Til Death do Us part!

I believe that with God’s help, we will blessed with 30 more…..

Ramblings on What’s ahead for Me in 2014…

First, I must say that it’s amazing to look at your life through the eyes of God’s Grace… for the last 3 years or more, I have entered a new year with much anticipation and I have looked at the year that I have left behind, with a sense of calm & peace. Now don’t misunderstand, the previous 20+ years had been “Thank God I don’t have to do that again!”  But for the past few years, my only real challenges have been my son … and my finances (from my skewed perspective!).  See the Lord has always provided for us financially.  There’s always been a ram in the bush!  Our needs have been graciously met; we have always had shelter and food on the table … BUT, I would prefer not to live from paycheck to paycheck.  So I have asked God for an over-abundance (and not just financially) and He has asked me to wait until it’s my season!  I know that God wants me to trust Him with my whole heart.  Money, or the lack thereof, seems to always keep me a little unsettled, thus it continues to be my area of opportunity.  As far as my son goes, I have finally, finally turned him over to the Lord and now I am truly letting God handle it.  I am patiently waiting from my son’s deliverance and I refuse to interfere.

Now on to 2014… With each new year, I want to grow spiritually, walk in my purpose and always seek to get better and better at what I do.  2014 is no exception!  Order Your Steps continues to grow as more and more doors are opened. Many of those doors have been opened via ShelfGenie and for that, I am truly grateful.  However, there are four (4) major objectives that I would like to accomplish this year:

  1. Write an eBook entitled “It’s more about Order, than Organizing”.  I even have the dedication written.  I want to do a compilation of my best posts and put them into book form.  I would love to be able to offer some type of product(s) with my other professional organizing services.
  2. I would like to do more speaking engagements.  I have three (3) different “Order Out of Chaos” presentations prepared and I can customize them to suit the group that I am speaking to.  This may require a new marketing strategy, more networking, etc.
  3. I want to further my education by taking the certified professional organizing courses, which I wasn’t going to do initially.  However, now that I am going into my 3rd year of business, I believe that it would be an added benefit.
  4. Research the qualifications to become a certified Life Coach and begin to map out a path to add this skill to my business portfolio.

So I practice what I preach… I have identified and documented my 3-4 BIG objectives.  I believe that they all are realistic and achievable.  Now I must outline the specific actions needed, time-frames and deadlines to reach my goals.

As we journey toward our dreams, I have promised to keep an eye on you and I will keep you posted on my progress as well.

I am so excited!!

How about you?

Now we gotta have Faith!!

I re-read the story of Mary and it really doesn’t say that she endured a lot of trouble, but we can just surmise.  An angel came to Joseph to explain that his wife had not betrayed him. Thank the Lord!  But, what’s interesting is that Mary accepted her assignment, although she didn’t totally understand it all.  Whether it troubled her or not, she had the Faith that God was going to do what He said that He would do.

We too have our assignment for the coming year.  God has promised us that He is going to meet ALL our needs.  He has told us that we shouldn’t worry about Nothing.  We already know that there is nothing Impossible with God… and ALL things work together for our good.  I speak prophetically that in 2014, we should expect Double for our Trouble! We have a game plan.  We are going to identify our goals (2 or 3 major ones, and pray about them), break ’em down into bite size pieces and reward ourselves for our accomplishments along the way… and most of all, we must ADD Faith!!  It is all for naught, if we don’t believe that we will receive what God has promised!

A Totally Random Rant on Religion (Not a Bashing!) – Part 2

I am glad that I prepared you all for a Part 2 for the blog post on yesterday, because I am sure you all are wondering, “How was that a rant on religion????”   As a side note, let me mention that it was very interesting to see the related articles which expressed major concerns with “religion”, which to a certain degree emphasized a few of my concerns.

Now I did say that I had and still have A LOT in my head on this topic, but let me attempt to connect some of the dots…  In my OPINION and I stress my opinion, Man (Humanity) has misused, mishandled and in some cases, misinterpreted the Word of God.  Some have taken a scripture or two, used it out of context and created an entire religion. For others, religion has become BIG $$$ business. Unfortunately, these and other issues have turned people away from church and away from God Himself.

Along the same lines, many of us (50 and over), grew up in church, which was and in some cases, still is heavily influenced by tradition. As a young adult, it appeared that anything other than breathing would send you to Hell and for some, it is still that way. 😦  My pastor tells us often that we (the church) have allowed tradition to truly choke out the Truth.  The Word of God stands by itself, is spiritually discerned and does not need our help to make it TRUE.

So, what is my point?  We have run people away from God with our words.  Young people and older ones too, are seeking a Savior and we tell them about everything, BUT Christ Jesus.  Your dress is too short, your hair is too long, you can’t chew gum (lol!)…. just to name a few.  I believe that I said it yesterday, if we simply allow the Spirit of the Lord to lead, guide and direct us is ALL that we do and say; Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. Ephesians 4:29

If you notice, Jesus Christ did not hang out with the “religious” folks. He hung with those who needed Him most…. the people that needed to KNOW Him.  We are losing an entire generation or two, because we won’t simply tell this about Jesus.  I have two (2) grown daughters and we have talked about everything.  They have asked me about nose piercing and tattoos, joining sororities and most recently, how would I feel if they stopped going to church.  I respect them as intelligent young women and their decisions, and they respect my opinion. I let them know that I will no longer suffer their consequences for them.  My youngest will call me just to vent and she will tell me up front, “Mom, just listen… I don’t want to hear scripture”.  At times, we just have to agree to disagree, but I am confidence that they KNOW Jesus and that’s the best I can do.  Everyone deserves to KNOW Jesus.  In John 14:6, Jesus said , “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Are we speaking LIFE or Death with the power of our tongue?

A Totally Random Rant on Religion (NOT a Bashing!)

I will try not to make this post too long.  But I have so much in my head right now that I may have to make this a two-part post.

There are a few things that I need to mention before I get into the meat of my message… First, I will reemphasize that this is NOT A BASHING of Religion!  Actually, I am going to speak very little about religion specifically.  Second, I want to remind you that this is a RANT! So I am going to ramble at times, thus I may say things that may not make any sense to you, so you may need to read it more than once. 😀

When I gave my initial message, as an aspiring missionary, my pastor told us that the Word that the Lord gives us comes to us first.  So there has been this Word in my spirit about what we say out of our mouth.  The Power of Life and Death is in our tongue!   It never ceases to amaze me how the Lord will confirm His Word to us in ways that we least expect.  The Spirit of the Lord will keep talking until we listen.

Don’t rush me yet, I told you that I was going to ramble…

Are we telling people about Jesus???  I heard someone say that we all must preach the gospel and when necessary speak words.  Think about it…  Are we talking about the Grace of God that has been afforded us?  But the cost was great!  We, in general, spend TOO much time telling ourselves and others, what we have done wrong, what we shouldn’t do or even what we can’t do??? We must be really careful about what comes out of our mouth.  We must speak LIFE, first to ourselves.

Make a Declaration! ….

We must allow the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself to speak to us and through us. Remember, God SPOKE the world into existence.  If we show everyone the Love of Christ, He will take care of the rest.

I understand that this message doesn’t apply to All of Us.  But it has served to remind me that I have to be very careful of what I let out of my mouth, even words I speak about myself.  I really don’t want to hinder the blessings that God has for me, simply because of what I just happen to speak into the atmosphere.

How about you?

I think that there’s more to come (part 2)…  My pastor spoke today about speaking our thoughts.  He said that we are going to have negative thoughts, but what happens when we speak them out loud?
