Most people believe that as a professional organizer, that I am always organized… I must say that I believe that I am more organized than most, however, I too must take time to re-organize. Granted I try not to let it get too out of hand, but for me, it is very therapeutic to get organized so that I can be more productive and more efficient. In spite of my very hectic schedule, it is important to invest time, in order not to waste time in the future.
I spent two (2) days last week putting things in Order! I started with my closets and dresser drawers…
Then I worked on my office…
This is a project that I am working on for a client, who wants to get all her files in order for 2015. She has a number of big projects for next year, so she wants to be prepared to work with a spirit of excellence and divine order, as God has ordained!
Do you have a plan for 2015? You do know that God has one for you, so I would suggest that you get prepared. Take some time to put your things in Order and be ready to prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers….
This project was to organize an entire home, from garage & family room to the upstairs bedrooms. I met my client at a vending event that I attended to share info about ShelfGenie and Order Your Steps. She arrived just when the event was beginning to shut down. She passed by our booth and she said that she really needed to get her home organized. However, she simply took the info and said that she would call me. Arline, ShelfGeniefranchise owner, said “Did you get her phone number?” Please understand that God always Orders Your Steps…. I kinda chased her down and got her phone number. AMAZING!! A few weeks later, I did her FREEin-home assessment and the rest is history! 😀
She’s been truly AWESOME!She’s been very patient with me and has worked diligently throughout the entire organizing process. However, at times, it was simply overwhelming for her, but she stuck with it. Although, there were times that she just couldn’t get her homework done, she was always ready to work when I showed up.
Once motivated, she began doing other improvements to her home, i.e. painting, deck refinishing and replacing patio doors… I mean BIGstuff. She is living proof that once you start to establish more organization in your home, it promotes an Order to your life were also times that we had an opportunity to discuss her work life…It is all about Order!!
HOORAY! We have finished the bulk of our project, and now we will need to do some fine tuning to a few areas of her home. We will establish a maintenance program that will enable her to continue what we have started. Our official project wrap-up was last Friday. It felt like we were closing a major chapter of her life, which I guess we have! I appreciate how the Lord has allowed me to minister to her during this last few months. Moving forward, I will check in with her by phone or preferrably a pop-up visit every other week or so. In addition, we will have a two-hour organizing session once a month and then we’ll just see what happening from here! 😀
WOW!!! 11,000 views and counting.… With over 500 fellow blogger followers!!! It is truly overwhelming to know that so many have visited and others have even decided to follow “Finding Order in Chaos”. A HUGE THANK YOU TO YOU ALL! But I must apologize for not posting more frequently. Order Your Steps is really growing and for that I am so very grateful, but I understand that I have an obligation to those that take the time to stop by from time to time. As a planner, I will make sure that posting find a spot on my To Do list and to my more recent followers, I promise to find ample time to visit your sites as well.
I plan to have a post out by next Wednesday and I am asking for your topic(s) of interest.
Please check one of the following…
Now allow me to leave you with a little inspiration!
First, I must say that it’s amazing to look at your life through the eyes of God’s Grace… for the last 3 years or more, I have entered a new year with much anticipation and I have looked at the year that I have left behind, with a sense of calm & peace. Now don’t misunderstand, the previous 20+ years had been “Thank God I don’t have to do that again!” But for the past few years, my only real challenges have been my son … and my finances (from my skewed perspective!). See the Lord has always provided for us financially. There’s always been a ram in the bush! Our needs have been graciously met; we have always had shelter and food on the table … BUT, I would prefer not to live from paycheck to paycheck. So I have asked God for an over-abundance (and not just financially) and He has asked me to wait until it’s my season! I know that God wants me to trust Him with my whole heart. Money, or the lack thereof, seems to always keep me a little unsettled, thus it continues to be my area of opportunity. As far as my son goes, I have finally, finally turned him over to the Lord and now I am truly letting God handle it. I am patiently waiting from my son’s deliverance and I refuse to interfere.
Now on to 2014… With each new year, I want to grow spiritually, walk in my purpose and always seek to get better and better at what I do. 2014 is no exception! Order Your Steps continues to grow as more and more doors are opened. Many of those doors have been opened via ShelfGenie and for that, I am truly grateful. However, there are four (4) major objectives that I would like to accomplish this year:
Write an eBook entitled “It’s more about Order, than Organizing”. I even have the dedication written. I want to do a compilation of my best posts and put them into book form. I would love to be able to offer some type of product(s) with my other professional organizing services.
I would like to do more speaking engagements. I have three (3) different “Order Out of Chaos” presentations prepared and I can customize them to suit the group that I am speaking to. This may require a new marketing strategy, more networking, etc.
I want to further my education by taking the certified professional organizing courses, which I wasn’t going to do initially. However, now that I am going into my 3rd year of business, I believe that it would be an added benefit.
Research the qualifications to become a certified Life Coach and begin to map out a path to add this skill to my business portfolio.
So I practice what I preach… I have identified and documented my 3-4 BIG objectives. I believe that they all are realistic and achievable. Now I must outline the specific actions needed, time-frames and deadlines to reach my goals.
As we journey toward our dreams, I have promised to keep an eye on you and I will keep you posted on my progress as well.
… I pray for more Order in your life in 2014! The biblical meaning of the number 14 is double completion (2 X 7) or double spiritual perfection. So what are you doing to prepare for 2014? Are there goals and objectives that you really want to accomplish? -OR- Are you simply going to go with the same old flow? Let me suggest that you get a little more organized, be a little less stressed and have a LOT more Peace in the coming year?
I would venture to guess that most of us would love to slow down, just a little bit. We say it, but what are we doing about it? We would love to have just a little more time each day. But what are we doing about it?
Here are a few suggestions …
Jot down a couple of BIG, but specific things that you want to accomplish next year. Things that will get you closer to your dream, something that you are passionate about, something that you really, really want to scratch off your bucket list. For example, my daughter wants to write a novel. She is going to take a break before graduate school, but she must focus on her goal and make a commitment or the year will have passed and …no novel.
Make your goal realistic. If your goal is unrealistic, thus unattainable, then it is very unlikely that you will achieve it. Thus frustration sets in and you are back to square one.
No New News!… You have to have a plan, write it down and stick to it. Break your goal down into bite size pieces. “In order to finish my novel, I must write a minimum of one hour each day, 30 min. in the morning before I eat breakfast and 30 min. in the evening before I eat dinner”. “My goal is to write X number of words a day”.
Establish some Order & Peace in your environment.Organize your space where you are going to work. Set aside quiet time to work… maybe add a little music.
Take DEEP Breaths. Take a moment to unwind. Relax! Read a scripture. Just think how much you can accomplish in a short period of time if you put your mind to it. (Sidebar: I suffer from high blood pressure (I am not sure why? :-() and I was in the doctor’s office. He took my pressure and yes, it was high. But then he said relax and take 3 DEEP breaths…. my pressure dropped 15 points in a matter of minutes. Amazing!)
REWARD YOURSELF along the way! Keep track of your progress. Give yourself credit for completing each step. “Don’t despise the day of small beginnings!”
Many of us will start this process and it will last all of two (2) weeks, if that long and we will be sucked up into the routine of life as it always was and will be. Let’s make this year different. I am not sure what IT will take for you to do IT. But I pray that you find IT! There is a need for a Spiritual Breakthrough!!!! Seek IT and be determined to find IT!
For 2014,Expect Double for your Trouble, as you strive for Double Completion! Yes, we are gonna have to work smarter. Be consistent and keep our eye on the prize. Theses few small suggestions can apply to any and everything that we want to accomplish. Is your Dream Too Big? I don’t think so and I am not even sure what it is!! So, if I can believe that, then I am sure you can…
I will be checking on you from time to time to see how you are doing!
